Terms of Service

Hey Fido is an observation, safety-guidance, and referral companion for dog owners. It provides AI-generated interpretations of photos, videos, and context you submit, along with general care tips and referrals to professionals.

Hey Fido is NOT a veterinarian, licensed behaviorist, trainer, or professional service provider. Nothing we output is a diagnosis, prescription, treatment plan, or substitute for professional care. We are an entertainment-and-insight product that routes you toward qualified humans when it matters.

In emergencies — suspected poisoning, severe bleeding, seizures, heatstroke, labored breathing, collapse — call a veterinarian or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control hotline at (888) 426-4435 immediately. Do not rely on this app for urgent care.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) to use Hey Fido. By creating an account you represent that you meet this requirement.

You're responsible for the security of your account and for any activity under it. Use a strong password and don't share your credentials.

You agree to provide accurate, current information and to update it when it changes.

You agree not to: upload images or videos you don't have the right to submit; upload content depicting illegal activity; attempt to circumvent safety guardrails; use the service to harass, defame, or harm others; probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems without written permission; or resell access to the service without a written agreement.

For images or videos of dogs that are not your own, you confirm you have the owner's consent.

Observations, care tips, funny lines, audio, and generated videos are produced by third-party AI models. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or wrong. Use your judgment and consult a professional for anything that matters.

We make no warranty that AI-generated content is accurate, reliable, or fit for any purpose.

Paid plans (Hey Fido Plus, Hey Fido Pro) are sold on a monthly or annual basis and auto-renew until cancelled. Annual plans are billed once per year at the stated rate and represent a two-month discount compared to paying monthly.

You can cancel at any time from Settings → Plan & billing → Manage subscription, which opens Stripe's customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep access until then.

Refund policy: you may request a refund within 14 days of a first purchase or annual renewal by emailing support@heyfido.app — we will issue a prorated refund for unused time. After 14 days or for monthly renewals, we do not offer refunds except where required by law.

Emergency / red-flag observations are always free to run, on every tier, and do not consume quota.

Prices are listed in US dollars and may change with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers keep the price they signed up at until renewal.

You retain ownership of photos, videos, dog profiles, and text you upload. By uploading, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the service for you (running observations, generating outputs you request, displaying your history).

You can delete your content at any time. Deletion removes it from active systems within 30 days; backups are purged on a rolling cycle.

The Hey Fido name, logo, designs, and original content are our property. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them without permission.

AI-generated outputs that are based on your input belong to you to the fullest extent permitted by law. We grant you a royalty-free license to use and share them.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties of any kind — express, implied, statutory — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hey Fido and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) $100 USD.

You agree to defend and indemnify us against any claim arising from your violation of these Terms, your content, or your misuse of the service.

You can stop using Hey Fido and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create undue risk, or are inactive for extended periods. We'll try to warn you first unless a violation is serious.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in the county where Hey Fido's operator is registered, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated in-app and, for account holders, via email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
